Blog for work on my Masters thesis - a survey of methods for evaluating media understanding, object detection, and pattern matching algorithms. Mostly, it is related to ViPER, the Video Performance Evaluation Resource. If you find a good reference, or would like to comment, e-mail viper at cfar.umd.edu.

MPEG-7 Semantics

So, it appears that an OWLish interpretation of MPEG-7 has existed since 2001, developped by Jane Hunter for MPEG. I haven't been able to find any tools to use it, or access the schema itself outside of the description of its creation, but I am optimistic that it will at least give me the insight to make some headway into the whole viper/mpeg-7/veml inter-op problem.
